Nice to meet you!

Hi! We’re Daniel and Matt.

Yonder Sky is our small family business, not a big corporate tour company. We’re crazy about Seattle and Washington state and love sharing it with others. We’d be thrilled to have the opportunity to share it with you!

A few years ago, shortly before our 30th birthdays, we quit our office jobs and began traveling full-time, spending two years working our way around four continents. It was the experience of a lifetime, but we also found ourselves missing our beloved Pacific Northwest. When we finally came home, we couldn’t imagine a life that didn’t include travel and adventure. That’s why we started Yonder Sky.

One of us leads every tour personally. We hope to see you soon!

Meet Your Guides

Daniel, one of Yonder Sky's professional local guides

DANIEL

Daniel is a fifth-generation Washingtonian. He grew up on Bainbridge Island, a scenic 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Daniel loves exploring Washington’s back-roads, eating food truck lunches, devouring fantasy and sci-fi novels, and rollerblading along the Elliott Bay Trail. He’s traveled to 50 countries and 40 U.S. states. Daniel earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History and enjoys sharing interesting details about Washington’s past and present. Prior to Yonder Sky, Daniel worked for a non-profit organization helping people with disabilities navigate the Social Security Disability system.

Matt, one of Yonder Sky's professional local guides

MATT

Matt has called Seattle home for the last decade. He grew up in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. His favorite things include morning hikes in the Cascade Mountains, live folk music at the Tractor Tavern, and drinking craft IPAs at local breweries. Though he’s no professional scientist, he did earn an “A” in a one-credit Volcanoes and Earthquakes university course, and he’s eager to discuss Washington’s fascinating geology. Matt is also an enthusiastic traveler and has visited nearly 50 countries and 45 U.S. states. Prior to Yonder Sky, Matt worked as a management consultant and healthcare executive.
